About Rodney
A Letter From Rodney
Residents of Jackson deserve effective government services, stable infrastructure and safe neighborhoods. But the work of City Hall alone will not restore Jackson and produce the sustainable results we all desire. We, the faith community, business community, non-profit ministries, and residents must actively engage our city – to a level rarely seen before – and bring a message of hope and a plan for true restoration.
Scripture gives us a great example of a city being restored, when Nehemiah led the effort to rebuild Jerusalem. Nehemiah was burdened by what he saw, sought God’s wisdom, cast a vison, developed a plan, and in the face of overwhelming odds and frequent opposition, went to work. Jerusalem was restored.
Jackson can be as well.
The desire for sustainable results – not quick fixes – necessitates that we break down our silos, bring people with differing perspectives to the table who may not typically sit together, listen, and work together. Development of an effective plan starts with an effort to understand. This requires that we listen, especially to those most impacted by issues we face.
We are Better Together. Let’s get to work.
